After years of putting it off….I finally decided to start my own blog! Yay! I’m super excited to share my thoughts and inspirations with ya’ll. This is something super new for me, so please be patient with me as I jump on this blog train.
How did I finally take the step to start? Well….overcoming a lot of fear and doubt, but even more positive vibes and support from my friends and family. I thought “what the heck? What do I have to lose?” So here I am and here I go!
Meet My Familia!
Colors have a psychological meaning in a home. Think about the ambiance and mood you would like to create before moving forward with your design. Ask yourself how a certain color makes you feel and what thoughts you get. How does red make you feel? How does blue make you feel? What mood do you want to create?
I can confirm the colors in my home are a direct reflection of my personality. I don’t worry too much about trends. I just go with the feeling and the styles I like. I personally chose yellow, red and teal throughout my home because they make me feel happy. These these three colors also bring tranquillity, happiness and love to my home. When I see them elsewhere, it gives me the same feeling. It’s like…Hello Sunshine and Relax Beautiful! All in one. ❤️
When I was younger I use to think all of your decor had to match. Or it had to be all in one style. Throughout the years different elements and styles have inspired me to blend old with a bit of new. It doesn’t necessarily mean modern style new. Just new as in trending new.
The interior and exterior of our home is Tuscan designed throughout. It reminds me of a Tuscan Villa. I fell in love with it from day one.
“Your home should tell the story of who you are, and be a collection of what you love.” – Nate Berkus, Interior Designer
Living here has helped me appreciate the design and the flow of the home. It has also made me realize that I am not too crazy about having too much French Tuscan Decor all over the place. The design itself, the fixtures, cabinetry, etc., is ample. The contrast of different elements is what brings out my style and inspiration for our home. Be confident. Every home is special and every home has a different design. Love your home and make it yours no matter how big or small it is.
Don’t get me wrong…I love my kitchen. I really do! I’ve added my own little touches to it since we moved in. I just feel like it could use a little updating. Or maybe I’m just over it. Any thoughts?
